It was kind of a last-minute affair, but I’ve just recorded my eighth album: Ruminations. It features five quartet and five trio tunes. The newest tune, “Cudgel,” was influenced by Jimmy Giuffre’s aesthetic. The album will be released on May 23 by PJCE Records; you can preorder it at this link. We’re going to have a CD release event the same day at the newly reopened The 1905 – this may turn into a monthly event where we’ll celebrate some of my favorite Brazilian jazz composers.

Order “Wanderings,” a wonderful album of original, through-composed Brazilian and jazz-influenced piano pieces commissioned by pianist Andree-Ann Deschenes (it was just recognized as CBC Music’s “Record of the Week”).
